Scouting
is defined by Merriam-Webster's Dictionary as "the
activities of various national and worldwide organizations for youth
directed to developing character, citizenship, and individual skills."
Programs run by the Boy Scouts of America
prepare young people to make good choices throughout their lifetime by
helping to instill values that guide them to do their best, to be
helpful, and to strive for physical fitness, mental sharpness, and to
behave in a way that promotes self-esteem and the respect of others.
Offering responsible fun and adventure while instilling lifetime values
and providing activities that help with developing ethical character.
Scouts are trained in citizenship, service, and leadership.
Scouting helps parents and guardians raise good kids.
