About Scouting
Programs run by the Boy Scouts of America prepare young people to make good choices throughout their lifetime by helping to instill values that guide them to do their best, to be helpful, and to strive for physical fitness, mental sharpness, and to behave in a way that promotes self-esteem and the respect of others. Offering responsible fun and adventure while instilling lifetime values and providing activities that help with developing ethical character. Scouts are trained in citizenship, service, and leadership.
Cub Scout Ranks
- Bobcat - Every cub scout earns Bobcat rank, where they learn the Scouting Ideals—the motto, promise, sign, and more. (Requirements)
- Lion Cub - Kindergarten (or 6 years old): A fun introduction to Scouting. Parents and their scouts work with their den leader on activities, and join the rest of the pack for pack meetings, camping, and more. Requirements and electives.
- Tiger Cub - First Grade (or 7 years old): Requirements and electives.
- Wolf Scout - Second Grade (or is 8 years old): Requirements and electives.
- Bear Scout - Third Grade (or is 9 years old): Requirements and electives.
- Webelos Scout (I & II) - Fourth and Fifth Grade: Webelos means WE'll BE LOyal Scouts. It is a more challenging 20 month program for 4th and 5th graders. In addition to the normal adventure activies, it will prepare cubs to join a Boy Scout troop. Webelos are also encouraged to work toward the highest acheivement available in Cub Scouting ... Cub Scouting Ideals
Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, the Tiger Cub motto, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

Colors
The Cub Scout colors are blue and gold. They have special meaning, which will help boys see beyond the fun of Cub Scouting to its ultimate goals.
The blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty, and the sky above. The gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness.
